HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata women's volleyball head coach Heather Pavlik has announced the committment of Kelly Reynolds (Upper Saint Clair, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) and Brittanie Tannenbaum (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Highlands Ranch) to the program. The pair are the first members of Pavlik's 2013 recruiting class.
Reynolds, a 5-7 setter, is a three-time letterwinner in volleyball and track at Upper Saint Clair High School in Pittsburgh, Pa. The three-year captain was named to the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) All-Section First-Team and earned WPIAL All-Star honors in 2011 and 2012. She helped lead the Panthers to two WPIAL Section Championship titles under Head Coach Yoko Nagao. After her senior campaign, the Westmoreland Sports Network named her Co-Player of the Year and placed her on two of its all-star teams. Reynolds has been a member of the Renaissance National Volleyball Club for the past two years, where in that time, the organization amassed a 35-2 record.
"Kelly's superior athleticism and intelligence combined with the quality coaching she has received in both high school and club has prepared her well for the next level," said Pavlik. "Her positive energy and enthusiasm for the game made her a perfect fit for Juniata and we are really looking forward to her four years here."
Tannenbaum is a 5-10 outside hitter. She spent four years playing volleyball at Highlands Ranch High School in Denver, Colo. where she was a three-time letterwinner. In 2012, she was named first-team all-conference, a scholar-athlete and the team captain. Tannenbaum has earned multiple all-tournament team selections during her career and as a member of the Colorado Momentum, she was a part of many Rocky Mountain Region Championships and Tournament wins.
"Brittanie is a great fit for Juniata," stated Pavlik. "She brings a really well rounded game and has competed at a very high level with club volleyball. Her ball control game will be an immediate asset in our gym and her understanding of the game will help the team continue to move forward."
