Eagles Win Five Events at Crusader Classic
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Juniata men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed at the Susquehanna Crusader Classic Friday night and reigning Landmark Women’s Field Athlete of the Week Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa.Slippery Rock) accounted for three of the Eagles five first place finishes. The junior won the long jump (4.78m), high jump (1.57m) and 60m hurdles (9.54 seconds).
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Juniata men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Susquehanna Crusader Classic Friday night and reigning Landmark Women's Field Athlete of the Week Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa.Slippery Rock) accounted for three of the Eagles five first place finishes. The junior won the long jump (4.78m), high jump (1.57m) and 60m hurdles (9.54 seconds).
Other key performances came from sophomore Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) on the track. She won the women's 1-mile in a personal best 5:15.41, finishing over 20 seconds ahead of the pack. Woods also went on to finish third in the 5000m run (20:18.56).
The men's 4x800m relay rounded out the first place finishes. Trevor Stephens (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase), Connor Robinson (Asheville, N.C./Asheville), Ryan Bogdan (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) and Jacob Krott (Temple, Pa./Muhlenberg) held off a Franklin & Marshal surge at the end to earn first place in 8:36.39.
