Early doubles lead doesn’t translate to Juniata win in 7-2 loss to Trine
The Juniata College women’s tennis team won two out of three doubles matches, but couldn’t keep the momentum going into singles play and dropped a 7-2 decision to Trine University on Monday in Hilton Head, S.C.
At No. 1 doubles, Megan Phillips (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) and Heather Waring (San Antonio, Texas) posted an 8-4 win over the Trine duo of Lauren Schlueter and Jessica Huhnke. The Eagles also came away victorious at No. 2 doubles, where Hilary Walsh (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) and Stacie Beegle (Schellsburg, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) notched an 8-5 win over Trine's Samantha Willman and Chrissy Uphaus.
