Women’s soccer splits final games of European trip vs. Austrian clubs
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College women's soccer closed out the competitive portion of its European trip by taking a win and a loss out of a pair of games against Austrian club teams this weekend.
Juniata dropped a 4-0 loss to FC St. Veit on Saturday, as the Eagles were unable to solve a St. Veit keeper who serves as the back-up for the Austrian national team.
The Eagles fared much better on Sunday, as Juniata posted a 2-1 win over FC Berkheim USK. Junior Jenna Rodrigue (Manchester, Conn./Manchester) notched a goal in the first half, but Berkheim equalized late in the frame to send the teams into the intermission tied 1-1. Junior Alicia Snyder (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) celebrated her birthday by scoring in the second half, lifting Juniata to the win.
Juniata heads to Munich, Germany, for a few days of sightseeing in the Bavarian capital, before returning to the U.S. on Wednesday.
