HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College women's basketball held onto its No. 15 in the nation ranking, in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 poll released late Monday, then followed up Tuesday with a two-spot jump in the USA Today/ESPN Division III Top 25 Coaches' poll.
Juniata (13-1, 3-0 Landmark) received 264 points in the D3hoops.com poll, and trails 14th-ranked Hope College by 23 points.
Williams College, which had been ranked ahead of Juniata in the No. 12 spot, dropped to 18th after a loss last week to unranked Tufts University. However the University of Mount Union vaulted from 16th up to No. 12 after convincing conference wins over Marietta and Ohio Northern.
In the USA Today/ESPN Division III Top 25 Coaches' poll, Juniata checked in at No. 17, up from last week's ranking of 19th. Both Williams and Lebanon Valley dropped below Juniata in the poll; Leb Val's fall in the poll came after a seven-point home loss to unranked Franklin & Marshall last week.
Juniata returns to action on Friday, Jan. 13, when the Eagles travel to Towson, Md., to face Goucher College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Decker Sports & Recreation Center.
