Women’s basketball holds at no. 19 on D3Hoops.com poll

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – A 63-48 win over Marymount University held Juniata women's basketball to no. 19 on the D3Hoops.com Top 25 Poll, as of Sunday, Dec. 18.
Although Juniata (9-1) didn't jump up any slots with a win, it did earn 180 points, a 29-point increase from last week's poll standings.
Amherst College (8-0) held on to first for the fourth week with 619 points and 21 first place votes. The University of Chicago (6-0) also kept its no. 2 spot with 598 points and three first place votes.
The weekly poll is voted on by a panel of coaches, sports information directors, and media members from across the nation.
Women's hoops returns to the court as it hosts the Juniata Holiday Classic on December 29-30. Juniata first faces Misericordia University (4-4) on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Eagles will play Ramapo College (7-2) at 4:00 p.m.
