Juniata Athletics Counting Down Top 10 Moments of 1973 Stagg Bowl
HUNTINGDON, Pa. - In honor of the 40th anniversary of the first NCAA Division III Football National Championship, Juniata athletics is counting down its top 10 moments from the game. Juniata faced Wittenberg University on December 11, 1973 in Phoenix City, Ala. for the title.

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - In honor of the 40th anniversary of the first NCAA Division III Football National Championship, Juniata athletics is counting down its top 10 moments from the game. Juniata faced Wittenberg University on December 11, 1973 in Phoenix City, Ala. for the title.
The team defeated Bridgeport (35-14) in the semifinals to earn the berth. The playlist includes moments by head coach Walt Nadzak, Jr., Gary Shope ('74), Greg Kennedy ('74), and more. A new moment will be released every Friday during the season. Juniata football will recognize the historic 1973 team at homecoming on October 26 when the Eagles face Muhlenberg College at noon.
