LEXINGTON, KY – The 2014-15 Juniata women’s volleyball team received a Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Wednesday.

LEXINGTON, KY- Four members of the Juniata College women's volleyball team were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region team, the organization announced this afternoon. Sophomore Nakita Gearhart (Waynesboro, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim), senior Amelia Kepler (Kane, Pa./Kane Area), and sophomore Kelly Reynolds (Upper Saint Clair, Upper Saint Clair) were all named to the first team. In addition, freshman Megan Moroney (Mentor, OH/Mentor) received Honorable Mention.

TOWSON, MD- Juniata women’s volleyball swept the major awards in the Landmark Conference as Amelia Kepler (Kane, PA/Kane Area) was voted the Landmark Player of the Year for the second year in a row. Brittani Young (Columbia, PA/Hempfield Area) was named the Specialist of the Year and Megan Moroney (Mentor, OH/Mentor) was chosen as the Rookie of the Year. The Juniata coaching staff also repeats as the Landmark Coaching Staff of the Year.

LEXINGTON, KY- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its National Player of the Week for all of Division III on Tuesday. Sophomore middle blocker Nakita Gearhart (Waynesboro, PA/Greencastle-Antrim) was tabbed with the recognition.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – The NCAA selection committee released the 64-team field for the upcoming Division III women’s volleyball national championship tournament. Juniata will travel to the campus of Wittenberg College in Springfield, OH for the regionals this Thursday through Saturday Nov. 13-15. The No. 10 Eagles earned their eighth consecutive Landmark Conference title last weekend and will be making their 34th NCAA Tournament appearance.

HUNTINGDON, PA- The women’s volleyball team had to grind it out but in the end came out victorious as it defeated Susquehanna 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 27-25) on Saturday night in the Landmark Conference Championship match at a loud Memorial Gymnasium. It is the Eagles’ eighth straight Landmark championship and in the process Juniata earns the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

HUNTINGDON, PA- For the eighth straight year, Juniata women’s volleyball will host the Landmark Conference Championship match. This year’s championship will take place on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. at Memorial Gymnasium. The winner will earn the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Women’s Volleyball Ousts Moravian in Landmark Semifinals

HUNTINGDON, PA- The Juniata women’s volleyball team hosted Moravian in the Landmark Conference Tournament semifinals on Tuesday night at Memorial Gymnasium. The Eagles had a season high hitting percentage of .446 as they handled the Greyhounds 3-0 (25-7, 25-22, 25-17).

Volleyball Ends Regular Season On a High Note

MOUNT UNION, OH- The #11 ranked women’s volleyball team traveled to Alliance, OH to compete in the Mount Union Tri-Match on Saturday. The Eagles ended their regular season with two victories as they won 3-1 (25-13, 26-24, 20-25, 25-12) over Otterbein and scored a come from behind upset against the #7 Purple Raiders 3-2 (12-25, 27-25, 20-25, 25-17, 19-17). The wins improve Juniata’s record to 25-7 overall.

Women’s Volleyball Sweeps on Final Day of Wid Guisler Invitational

HUNTINGDON, PA- #10 Juniata women’s volleyball claimed wins in both of its matches on Saturday at the Wid Guisler Invitational. The Eagles defeated Carnegie Mellon 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-22) and Stevenson 3-1 (28-26, 18-25, 25-20, 25-19). The two wins improve the Eagles’ record to 23-7 overall.

HUNTINGDON, PA- Women’s volleyball faced a tough opponent in #17 Eastern University. The two teams were tied 1-1 after two sets but the visitors came back to take the next two to win 3-1 (27-25, 18-25, 28-26, 25-20) on Friday night at the Wid Guidler Invitational.

HUNTINGDON, PA – Juniata women’s volleyball hosted Clarion University of Division II on Tuesday night at Memorial Gymnasium. Both teams played close sets but it was the Golden Eagles who came out on top, 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-17).

KINGS POINT, NY- The women’s volleyball team competed in the final weekend of Landmark play. The Eagles dropped only one set on the day as it defeated the host Mariners 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-10) and Scranton 3-1 (25-17, 25-18, 18-25, 25-19).

Gabrielle Ooyama had nine digs for the Eagles.

BEAVER FALLS, PA- Looking to end a three match winless streak, the Juniata women’s volleyball team did just that as it won 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-23) over Geneva College on Wednesday night. The win improves the Eagles’ record to 19-5 overall while the Golden Tornadoes drop to 18-7.
