CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Juniata College women's soccer team has been selected to take part in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Women's Soccer Championship, the organization announced Monday night. As the No. 5 seed, the Eagles will travel to No. 4 Grove City College for a first round matchup at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
"Any time you get a chance to keep coaching and any time the athletes get a chance to keep playing, it's a good thing," said head coach Scott McKenzie. "I told the team last night, postseason is never guaranteed. For these kids, it may be their only chance ever to play in a postseason game. They have to earn that every year. This team has earned it this year. They've earned both the Landmark postseason and a regional selective tournament in the ECAC. This is a big deal. We're excited to be there."
Juniata women's soccer is making its second ECAC appearance, having previously competed in the tournament in 2007.
