Huntingdon, Pa. – Juniata defeated Wilkes, 19-6 at Gibbel Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
After a 2-2 first quarter, Juniata scored seven goals in the second to take a 9-3 lead at halftime. The Eagles added seven more in the third and three in the fourth.
Ella McGlaughlin led the offense with six goals and one assist on 12 shots, including 10 on goal. Devyn Mauger finished with three goals and two assists while recording 11 draw controls and three ground balls.
Elayna Stubbe added three goals along with three ground balls, two draw controls, and five caused turnovers. Emily Kemmer and Mara Gallo each scored two goals.
Skyler Stevens recorded two goals and two assists, while Mikayla Bodley scored her first career goal. Madi Van Zant tallied one assist.
Juniata finished with 38 shots, including 30 on goal, and held an 18-14 advantage in ground balls. The Eagles also controlled 16 draw controls.
In goal, Caoilinn Heatley made seven saves in 45 minutes to earn the win, while Francesca Ditsky recorded two saves over the final 15 minutes.
