HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team played a high-shooting but ultimately scoreless 0-0 draw of a match against visiting Lycoming College, Tuesday evening at Gibbel Stadium. Both teams had their chances but couldn't find a way past either goalkeeper.
Maxwell Mattioni made five saves in goal for the Eagles.
Juniata seemed to control the run of play early in the match but found themselves on the back foot for most of the first half. Lycoming held an 8-4 advantage in shots and a 5-2 one in corners.
The Eagles, always known for second half surges, did what they have become known for and roared out to start the second half. In the 55th minute, they had three different shots stopped several seconds apart.
In the final minute of the match, a cross by Jase Colino found the head of Beckett Young but it went wide left of the target.
The Warriors held a slight advantage in shots, 17-14, and the corners were an even 6-6.
Juniata will return to action this Saturday at Drew University for a 3:30 kickoff.
