SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Ricky Scott delivered a clutch two-run single to tie the game in the sixth, but Juniata College baseball couldn't hold off Susquehanna University in a 5-3 loss on Wednesday afternoon at Bollinger Field.
In the top of the 4th, Jordan Chui walked with the bases loaded to bring home a run for the Eagles.
Scott's base hit up the middle brought home Jordan Chui and Jacob Despot to level the score at 3-3, but a two-run homer from the River Hawks in the bottom of the seventh proved to be the difference.
Hunter Thomas turned in a solid start on the mound, going six innings and allowing three runs on six hits with two strikeouts. Devon Coldren took the loss in relief.
Juniata collected eight hits on the day, with Ethan Pfeffer tallying two and scoring a run.
The Eagles will return to action this weekend with a Landmark Conference series at home.
