Women's Cross Country Takes The Podium at Eagle Invite
Reedsville, Pa - The women's cross country meet saw a dominant performance from Juniata, who captured the team title with 22 points. Juniata runners claimed the top three individual spots and placed all five of their scoring athletes within the top 11.
Gracie Gioiosa led the field and finished first overall with a time of 21:24.00. She was followed by teammates Sophia Moyer in second place at 22:48.70 and Olivia Brenneman in third at 22:55.70, completing a clean sweep of the podium. Cecelia Williams added a fifth-place finish, while Paige Clemmer sealed the scoring with an 11th-place effort.
Lycoming finished second in the team standings with 37 points. Ella Scott led the team with a fourth-place finish, and the rest of their scoring pack—Sydney Taylor (6th), Gwyneth Fox (8th), Anna Kauffman (9th), and Ann-Marie McMurtrie (10th)—delivered a tight, consistent performance that kept them ahead of Mount Aloysius.
Mount Aloysius took third with 65 points. Their top finisher, Kayle Strayer, crossed in seventh place. Despite not having any other runners in the top ten, the team stayed competitive with solid placements from Jayda Bonsu, Sophie Westrick, Emily Miller, and Madison Cowfer, who filled out their scoring five.
Juniata's next meet is a preview of NCAA Regionals on September 27th at Dickinson.
