HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College women's cross country team struggled with numbers, but turned in a solid season under the helm of head coach Jon Cutright.
Juniata's top runner was senior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union). She turned in a time of 23:20.30 to be named Landmark Conference Champion on Nov. 2. This performance earned Woods her third appearance on the First Team, and fourth All-Landmark accolade in as many years. Her performance at the Lock Haven River Run (Sept. 21), with a time of 21:44.20, gave her the Landmark and program record in the 6K. Woods became the first Juniata runner to be named Performer of the Year. She was also awarded a spot on the Landmark All-Sportsmanship team.
Sophomore Jecenia Duran (Temple, Pa./Oley Valley) and Emily Wolf (York, Pa./Central York) also posted career best times at the Lock Haven River Run. Duran crossed the line in 24:34 to claim 92nd out of 231 runners. Wolf finished in a personal best time of 26:17.30. Junior Courtney Peterson (York, Pa./Central York) posted a career-best time of 24:40, which was good enough for 152nd out of 358 runners at the NCAA Mideast Regional Meet on Nov. 16.
The team had a solid showing at the Gettysburg Invitational on Oct. 19. The Eagles finished 17th out of 27, just 3 points behind 16th place.
