HUNTINGDON, Pa. – With just one weekend left of regular season play, the Juniata College women's volleyball team has moved up two places to No. 9 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 poll, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles finished last week 3-0, with two wins over regionally ranked opponents, and were named 2013 Wid Guisler Invitational champions.
"If going up in the rankings means that we're making progress each day then that's great," said head coach Heather Pavlik. "The bottom line is that I think this team is moving forward. We're getting healthy at the right time of the year and we're a team that's improving day by day."
Juniata travels to the Emory National Invite in Atlanta, Ga., this weekend. The Eagles will face No. 6 Emory on Friday night at 7:30 p.m., followed by No. 15 Trinity (Tx.) and SUNY-Cortland on Saturday, at 1 and 3:30 p.m. respectively. Juniata next returns home for post-season play Friday, Nov. 8, to host the Landmark Conference Tournament.
