HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After a perfect 3-0 week, the Juniata College women's volleyball team held steady at No. 8 in the sixth American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) national poll of the year, the organization announced Tuesday.
"This group is growing every day and they're learning," said head coach Heather Pavlik. "Those are my only real goals. To make sure we're pushing them hard enough in the practice gym and that they are continuing to grow and continuing to get better daily. Understanding the game at a higher level, especially the younger players, that their development is coming along with an understanding of how to play the game against good people and with good people. Those are my only real goals. Try to keep things focused on the process because if you do the right things everyday in the practice gym, the right things will usually happen on the weekends when the games roll around."
The Eagles are coming off a perfect 2-0 sweep of Landmark Conference play last weekend and will look to continue that momentum this weekend at the Sea Gull Classic. Juniata travels to Salisbury, Md. to face Bridgewater College (Va.), University of Mary Washington, and host Salisbury University.
