Women's Track and Field Wins Second Straight ECAC Championship
WESTMINSTER, M.D.- The Juniata women's track and field team defended their title as they claimed their second Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship (ECAC) at McDaniel College Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles scored a total of 128.5 points, led by two-time ECAC Championship MVP Gracie French. French won the 200m with a time of 25.37, was third in the long jump (4.66m), and third in the 100m (12.39m). She ran in the 4x100 relay with Zoey Zavorotny, Emily McCann, and Bre Spencer, taking second with a time of 50.39. She also ran in the 4x400 relay with Spencer, McCann and Camille McRoberts, also finishing second (4:09.78).
Emma Coolidge won the javelin (35.53m), while Spencer took first in the long jump (5.01m). The 4x800m relay of Ella McCrum, McRoberts, Natalie Osborne, and Chloe Reilley crossed the finish line first with a time of 10:24.11.
Haley Mummah took seventh in 100m hurdles (18.42), Spencer finished sixth in the 400m (1:02.27), while McRoberts was third in the 800m (2:28.59). Osbourne claimed sixth in the 800m with a time of 2:33.08.
McCrum crossed the finish line second in the 1500m (4:50.30), and McRoberts captured fourth (5:14.94). Olivia Brenneman was second in the 5000m (20:33.08), while Coolidge took sixth in the discus.
Chloe Sauer threw 38.23m to take third in the hammer, while Mummah leaped to second in the high jump (1.54m). Mummah also was eighth in the javelin (27.50m), and fourth in the long jump (4.60m). Jose Kelly claimed eighth in the pole vault (2.60m), while Sauer added eighth in the shot put (10.15) to her accomplishments for the day.
