Landmark10 All-Decade Team: Women’s Outdoor Track and Field
TOWSON, Md.- The Landmark Conference is naming some of the conference's top athletes to All-Decade Teams in celebration of its 10-year anniversary. The conference honored three Juniata jumpers and two distance runners on the Women's Outdoor Track and Field All-Decade Team.
TOWSON, Md.- The Landmark Conference is naming some of the conference's top athletes to All-Decade Teams in celebration of its 10-year anniversary. The conference honored three Juniata jumpers and two distance runners on the Women's Outdoor Track and Field All-Decade Team.
Kelsey Buffenmyer won the high jump in 2008 and 2009. She holds the Eagles mark of 18' 8" in the long jump (set in 2009) and the high jump of 5' 6" (set in 2007). She was named to the Academic Honor Roll in 2008 and 2009.
Angela Shaffer was a four-time champion in the high jump from 2010-2013. She also won the 100 meter hurdles in 2011 and 2013. In the 110 meter hurdles, her time of 14.98 is the school record. Her measure of 5' 5.25" is second to Buffenmyer in the high jump. In addition, Shaffer holds the JC record in the heptathlon with a score of 4063. She was named to the All-Academic Team in 2012 and the Landmark Academic Honor Roll in 2012.
Katrina Woods won the 5,000-meter race in 2012, 2013, and 2014, and the 5,000 meters in 2014 to earn First Team honors. She holds the Juniata record in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:39.61, 3000 meters (10:21.47), and 5,000 meters (17:12.54) She was also named to the Academic Honor Roll from 2012-2014.
Caroline Morgan won the 10,000 meter race in 2011 and 2013 with her best time coming in 2013 at 38:36.30, which is the Juniata record. She was also named to the Academic Honor Roll Team all three years she was eligible.
Alissa Sellers, a NCAA National qualifier last year, won the long jump in 2015 and the triple jump in 2016. She holds the JC record in the triple jump with a measure of 39' 3". She was named the Landmark Field Athlete of the Year in 2016 and was also selected to the Academic Honor Roll in 2015 and 2016.
