HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women's tennis team was defeated by Lycoming 5-4 on Tuesday at Raffensperger and Brumbaugh courts.
In first doubles, Kristen Lucas (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) and Olivia Ackley (Clearville, Pa.) started off strong winning 8-4 in first doubles, but Kady Lohr (Shanksville, Pa.) and Marilyn Ogof (Lake Ariel, Pa.) could not keep up in second doubles with the Warriors and lost 8-4. Mia Kazakavage (Lewisburg, Pa.) and Olivia Day (Duncansville, Pa.) were also unsuccessful in third doubles losing 8-4 against Lycoming.
In singles play, Lucas won 6-3, 6-4 in first singles, Lohr won in second doubles 6-1, 6-3, and Ackley earned a point in fourth singles 7-5, 6-1. Ogof lost in second singles 6-1, 6-1, Kazakavage was defeated in fifth singles 6-0, 6-1, and Eller was vanquished in sixth singles 6-0, 6-1.
The Eagles travel to Misericordia this Saturday, October 9 to compete at 1 pm.
