ALTOONA, Pa. – The Juniata women's tennis team traveled to Altoona to compete against Penn State Altoona on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles were defeated by the Nittany Lions, 7-2.
Olivia Ackley (Clearville, Pa.) and Mia Kazakavage (Lewisburg, Pa.) won 8-2 in second doubles, while Kady Lohr (Shanksville, Pa.) and Marilyn Ogof (Lake Ariel, Pa.) lost at first doubles 8-6. Courtney Eller (Colver, Pa. / Central Cambria) and Olivia Day (Duncansville, Pa.) lost 8-0 at third doubles.
Ackley won 7-5, 6-3 at third singles, while Lohr dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision in first singles and Ogof lost 6-3, 7-5 decision in second singles. Kazakavage came up short at fourth singles, 6-2, 7-6 (10-8), 11-9, and Eller dropped fifth singles 6-1, 6-0, and Day lost 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.
The Eagles take on Albright on the road Saturday, September 25 at 1:00 pm.
