Gibbs Tabbed as Landmark Offensive Athlete of the Week for Second Straight Week
TOWSON, Md.- Juniata women's lacrosse standout Grace Gibbs (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck) picked up her second consecutive Landmark Offensive Athlete of the Week honor after she led the Eagles to two wins, including the program's first-ever Landmark Conference victory over Goucher. The team also got their first-ever shutout as they defeated Chatham 17-0 last Wednesday.
The sophomore midfielder tallied six goals, two assists, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers in the midweek win at Chatham. On Saturday, she set a career-high with eight goals, which is also tied for the most goals in a single game in program history. Gibbs scored half her goals in the third when the Eagles pulled away, with her final goal triggering the running clock.
Juniata will take their record eight game-winning streak on the road when they play at Lancaster Bible at 7:00 on Wednesday.
