Bainey Leads Eagles to Victory Over Nittany Lions
Sinking Valley, Pa.- The Eagles took on the Penn State-Altoona Nittany Lions on Monday at Sinking Valley Country Club in the Penn State Altoona Spring Invitational, shooting 391. The Eagles beat the Nittany Lions by 73 strokes to claim the trophy in the cold.
Madeline Bainey led the way for the Eagles, shooting a cool 93. Bainey took second place in the tournament, recording two pars. Molly Schweitzer was the next player in for the Eagles, finishing in third place with a 97. Schweitzer had a solid front nine, recording two pars and a 47. Lily Stewart was the next finisher at Sinking Valley, shooting an even 100. Stewart finished in 5th place overall. Kylee Marshall was the last scoring member for the Eagles, shooting 101. Marshall took home sixth place and found a birdie on the second hole. Jazmine Boland was the last member of the A team, shooting a 105 on the day.
Emily Kemmer played an individual for the Eagles, shooting 104. Kemmer recorded a birdie on the second hole, draining a putt. Izzy Slagle also played as an individual for the Eagles, rounding out the day with a 114.
The Eagles will head to Shawnee on Saturday for the Landmark Conference Championship.
