Women's Golf Breaks Program Record in State College
State College, Pa.- The Women's golf team finished their first event of the spring strong with a score of 373. The Ritchey-led Eagles took advantage of better conditions, breaking the school record for team score in an event.
Molly Schweitzer led the Eagles with a strong round today, shooting 91 overall. Schweitzer turned her card in complete with a 46-45 split and three pars on the day to finish the tournament in T28 position. Kylee Marshall was next up for the Eagles, carding a 93 today, marking a 10-shot improvement on the day prior. Marshall recorded a solid back nine on the White Course, finding a total of three pars. Jazmine Boland had a bounce-back round today, also shooting 10 shots better than the previous day for a 94. She recorded five pars on the day and finished in 44th place for the tournament. Madeline Bainey had a great start to the spring, tying Schweitzer in 28th place in State College. Bainey shot 95 on day two with a par to finish off her weekend and round off the scoring players for the Eagles. Lily Stewart was the fifth and final player for the Eagles in State College, bagging a 101 on the day. Stewart found pars on the first and tenth for a solo 42nd-place finish.
The Eagles will fly to Hershey on Thursday for a battle against the Elizabethtown Blue Jays as they play in the Elizabethtown Spring Invite.
