Women's Golf Sits in Third After Day One at Sinking Valley
Sinking Valley, Pa. - Women's Golf started out their season at Sinking Valley Country Club on a sunny and 70-degree day. The course played as a par 72 to a distance of 5,605 yards at the Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic. The Eagles shot 383 in a "five, count four scores" format, to put them firmly in third place.
Molly Schweitzer led the Eagles today with a par on each side, shooting 93. Schweitzer sits in seventh place for the tournament and will look to continue strong play tomorrow. Jazmine Boland made her collegiate debut, rattling off six pars to shoot 94. Boland will tee off tomorrow in eighth place overall in chilly morning conditions. Madeline Bainey battled to shoot 97 as the start to her Sophomore campaign. Snagging two pars on the back nine, she will look to improve on her day one finish. Lily Stewart shot 99 at a familiar course to land in 15th place. Stewart shot 47 on the front nine and found two pars. Kylee Marshall rounded out the five starters for the Eagles today, shooting 107. Marshall will look to further improve on a solid performance during day two of the Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic. Izzy Slagle made her collegiate debut as an individual, shooting 113. Slagle snagged the only Juniata birdie of the day on the 120-yard, tenth hole.
The Eagles continue play tomorrow at Sinking Valley Country Club, teeing off at 9:00 AM in a shotgun format.
