Huntingdon, Pa. – The Juniata women's basketball team faced off with undefeated #2 Scranton squad on Saturday afternoon, falling 87-38.
Scranton set the tone early, jumping out to a 27-6 lead after the first quarter and maintaining control throughout the game. Juniata struggled to find an offensive rhythm in the opening half, scoring just 10 points over the first two quarters as the Royals carried a 47-10 advantage into halftime.
The Eagles showed improved energy coming out of the break, matching Scranton's pace more effectively in the second half. Juniata scored 14 points in both the third and fourth quarter, but the early deficit proved too large to overcome.
Bri Bodtorf led Juniata with nine points and seven rebounds, while Laney Gerdich added six points on 3-for-7 shooting. Olivia Berg chipped in five points and two rebounds, and Grace Harrison provided some offense with four points in limited minutes.
The Eagles will host Catholic on Wednesday at 7pm.
