Eagles Drop 66–48 Decision to Drew
Madison, NJ. – The Juniata women's basketball team battled throughout the afternoon but came up short in a 66–48 setback to Drew on Saturday in Madison, NJ.
The Eagles kept the game tight early, trading baskets through the opening quarter and taking an early 6–2 lead before Drew answered with a late push to edge ahead. Juniata briefly regained momentum in the third quarter, taking its final lead at 33–32 midway through the period, but the Rangers responded with a decisive run to swing control of the game.
Drew extended its advantage over the final 10 minutes, capitalizing on second-chance opportunities and bench production to build a double-digit cushion down the stretch.
Bri Bodtorf led Juniata with 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting, adding seven rebounds in the effort. Laney Gerdich chipped in 10 points and nine rebounds, while Emma Coolidge pulled down a team-high nine boards to go along with five points.
The Eagles shot 35.3 percent from the field and were perfect from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, finishing the game at 12-of-13 from the stripe. Juniata held a 32–40 deficit in points in the paint and was outrebounded 40–37 overall.
Juniata will look to regroup as they host Susquehanna on Wednesday at 5:00 PM.
