Huntingdon, Pa. – The Juniata College women's basketball team fell to unbeaten Scranton, 92–40, on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Gymnasium in Landmark Conference action.
Scranton (9-0, 4-0 Landmark) set the tone early, opening the game on a 30–13 first-quarter run and extending its lead to 58–18 by halftime. The Royals capitalized on turnovers throughout the afternoon, scoring 43 points off giveaways while holding Juniata (0-7, 0-4 Landmark) to 26.5% shooting from the field.
The Eagles showed resilience in the third quarter, outscoring Scranton 17–12 behind strong efforts at the free-throw line and improved ball movement, but the visitors regrouped to close out the contest.
For Juniata, Emily McCann led the way with a team-high 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting, including a perfect 5-for-5 performance at the free-throw line. Bri Bodtorf added 10 points, five rebounds, and two assists, while Olivia Berg chipped in five points.
Juniata will return to action with another Landmark Conference matchup as the Eagles continue their home stand at Memorial Gymnasium.
