CARLISLE, Pa.- The Juniata softball team earned a split on the road at Dickinson College, winning 3-1 before losing 4-1, on Thursday afternoon.
Game One
Cheyenne Silvis got the win while pitching a complete game, allowing one run on five hits with six strikeouts over seven innings. Ashley Robuck was 2-2 with two RBI, a walk, and a run scored, while Lexi Roush was 1-3 with a double and a run scored.
Robuck got the Eagles started in the second with an RBI single to center to score Cailee Barnett. Brooklynn Walker added another with a triple to center, which doubled the lead, scoring Robuck.
Robuck tacked on another with an RBI single in the fourth.
The Cardinals scored once in the seventh, scoring on a fielder's choice, and Silvis got the next two batters out to end the game.
Game Two
The Red Devils struck first in the second inning of game two, scoring four runs on three hits.
Grace Hensch mashed a double to left center in the top half of the third to score Maryn Swank, who had singled through the right side two batters earlier.
The Eagle bats went cold the rest of the game, with a Claire Thomas double to right in the sixth for the final hit of the game for JC.
Juniata returns to the field Tuesday at the Catholic University of America, with first pitch at 3:00.
