HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata softball team lost to visiting Penn State Altoona, 6-4, Thursday afternoon at West End Field.
Jessie Hunt was 4-4 with a double and a run scored, while Morgan Brumbaugh was 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
A two-run blast over the wall in centerfield midway through the first inning put the visitors up 2-0. Brumbaugh drove in Superka to cut the deficit in half.
In the third, three consecutive RBI singles from Brumbaugh, Emily Eutsey, and Reagan Goldsmith pushed the Eagles ahead 4-2.
The Lions tied the game on a two-run double to left center in the fifth, and a pair of runs in the sixth put them up two runs.
Juniata managed one hit over the final two innings as they couldn't manufacture a run.
The Eagles do not play again until next Saturday when they host the University of Catholic for a doubleheader.
