Eagles Selected Second in Landmark Preseason Poll

The Landmark Conference released the Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll Wednesday morning and Juniata came in second.

Juniata finished eight points behind Elizabethtown while Moravian finished third in the poll and Scranton rounded out the top four. The Eagles received two first place votes.

Juniata has young core of strong runners who will look to improve upon their impressive freshman seasons. Sophomore Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, PA/Science Leadership Academy) made the Landmark Conference second team and ran at the NCAA regional qualifier last season. Fellow sophomore Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey HS) joined him on the conference second team and at NCAAs the previous season. Sophomore Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y./Homer Senior High) also competed at the NCAA regional meet.

Other returnees include seniors Ben Martin (New Holland, PA/Garden Spot), Lucas Simpson (Silver Spring, MD/Albert Einstein). Vinnie Caroselli (Hershey, PA./Milton Hershey), Steven Glodek (Amberton, PA/Fannet-Metal) and Alexander Jones (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Township) round out the sophomores.
