Sierer Named AVCA Division III Player of the Week
LEXINGTON, Ky.- Juniata men's volleyball standout Will Sierer was named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Player of the Week for his outstanding week that saw the Eagles defeat two AVCA top 20 teams.
Sierer led the Eagles to three Continental Volleyball Conference wins, including wins over #13 Rutgers-Newark and #19 Kean.
Sierer averaged 10.4 assists per set over the three matches and added 11 digs in the win over Rutgers-Newark. He played in all 11 sets, securing a total of 114 assists for an average of 38 per match. Sierer currently sits sixth in the country in assists per set. The junior setter also bagged five kills, 22 digs, a solo block, two service aces, and two block assists across the three matches.
He is the 24th Eagle to be named AVCA National Player of the Week.
The Eagles will take on Drew (Friday at 7:00) and Wilkes (Saturday at 2:00) this coming weekend, and the team will recognize their seniors before the start of the Drew match on Friday.
