UNION, NJ- The #4 Juniata men's volleyball picked up their second win in the Garden State, winning 3-1 at Kean University Saturday afternoon.
Tyler Phillips amassed 15 kills, 17 digs, three aces, and three solo blocks. Dante Palombo added 11 kills (.529), two digs, and two solo blocks, while Felix Baier totaled 11 kills, three assists, an ace, and three digs.
The Eagles soared out to a 10-3 lead in the opening set and didn't look back as they dominated set one 25-12.
Kean the Cougars used a late 9-2 run to take set two, 19-25.
In set three, seven straight Eagle points midway through the set included kills from Logan Peterson and Baier, a block by Phillips, and a Baier ace put Juniata ahead 16-9. Later, with the score at 22-17, two kills from Palombo and a Cougar attack error pushed Juniata to set point. Phillips ended the set with another kill, 25-18.
Juniata hit .367 in the fourth set and closed the match with a 7-2 sprint as kills from Baier and Palombo ended the match.
Juniata, 22-2, returns to action at home against Drew Friday at 7:00 for Senior Night.
