Owings Mills, Md.- The #2 Juniata men's volleyball team continued their winning ways as they swept aside Stevenson 3-0 (26-24, 25-13, 25-16), Saturday afternoon.
Tyler Phillips led the way with 13 kills (.632), with two aces, five digs, a solo block, and a block assist. Octavian Sperry added 10 kills (.444), an assist, and two digs. Will Sierer had 30 assists and five digs.
Set one was tightly contested, with the teams even at 20-20, they traded points with the Eagles reaching set point first. The Mustangs took the next point, but the Eagles took set one with kills from Sperry and Felix Baier.
Set two saw the Eagles hit .375 while holding Stevenson to -.333 as Juniata used a 6-0 run midway through to cruise to a 25-13 set two win.
With the score at 13-12, the Eagles took flight with a 9-1 run that was capped by a Gugu Del Toro ace. A block by Baier and Dante Palombo ended the match, 25-16.
Juniata will travel to play CVC foe Southern Virginia, Friday at 7:00.
