Three Eagles Receive AVCA All-America Honors
LEXINGTON, KY – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the 2025 Division III Men's Volleyball All-America teams on Monday afternoon. Tyler Goldsborough and Luke Hoffman were named to the Second Team, Juan Armando was an honorable mention.
First, Graduate Tyler Goldsborough, the Outside Hitter, notched 210 kills while hitting a career-best .338, and added 113 digs, 34 service aces, and 19 total blocks across 65 sets. Goldsborough averaged 3.23 kills and 4.0 points per set.
His season was highlighted by a 24-kill performance against ranked Stevens and reached double-digit kills in 13 matches, including a .733 hitting percentage against St. John Fisher and a 21-kill, .552 performance against Wittenburg. Goldsborough also had three matches with 20+ digs and registered multiple service aces in 10 contests.
Next, Luke Hoffman, who was named to the AVCA Second Team last year, receives his second All-America honor. Currently sitting at 210 kills while hitting .541 across 78 sets, leading both the NCAA and the CVC. Hoffman tallied 49 total blocks, 28 service aces, and 47 digs while averaging 3.4 points per set.
Hoffman posted double-digit kills in nine matches, including 13 kills on a .571 hitting percentage against Puerto Rico – Rio Piedras and 12 kills against Wittenburg. Hoffman's most efficient outing came against Aurora, producing a .833 hitting percentage with 10 kills on 12 swings. The graduate recorded at least one block in 24 of his 28 matches with a season-high 7.0 total blocks against Eastern Mennonite.
Next, the AVCA honorable mention, outside hitter Juan Armando, over 27 matches, Armando totaled 259 kills while hitting .285. Armando averaged 2.91 kills per set and added 15 service aces and 27 assists. Defensively, Armando contributed 141 digs and 28 total blocks.
Standout matches include a 23-kill, 24-point outing against SUNY New Paltz on April 5th and 18 kills with a .343 hitting percentage in the win against Wittenburg on February 21st. Armando also had multiple matches hitting over .400, including hitting .750 in the season opener.
