Men's Track Produces Solid Performances in Mechanicsburg
Mechanicsburg, Pa. – The Juniata men's track and field team competed at the three-day invitational hosted by Messiah University, turning in strong distance performances and multi-event efforts across the meet.
On the track, Cj Coffey led the way for the Eagles in the 5000 meters, finishing fifth with a time of 16:15.83. Adam Gallo followed in seventh at 16:22.70, while Clark Gaynor posted a personal best of 17:07.85 to finish 11th. McClain Reamer added a 13th-place finish in 17:24.69.
In the hammer throw, Spencer Siegel recorded the top mark for Juniata with a throw of 40.31 meters (132-03) to place 12th overall. Logan Hackenberg finished 16th with a 35.91-meter throw (117-09), while Talbot Reed-Jaquay rounded out the group with a mark of 26.47 meters (86-10).
The Eagles were also well-represented in the decathlon, where Jake Alexander, Kaelano Kelly, and Joey McGowan competed across multiple events.
Alexander clocked a 55.09 in the 400 meters, ran 19.58 in the 110-meter hurdles, cleared 1.69 meters in the high jump, and recorded a mark of 18.36 meters in the discus. Kelly posted a 56.01 in the 400, ran 21.59 in the hurdles, and recorded a 20.25-meter throw in the discus. McGowan added a 59.12 in the 400, a 22.65 in the hurdles, cleared 1.54 meters in the high jump, and posted a 19.98-meter throw in the discus.
