Lewis, Ndikwe Earn Wins at Susquehanna
Selinsgrove, Pa. – The Juniata College men's track and field team turned in several strong individual performances at the Susquehanna Friday Night Showdown.
In the high jump, Jake Alexander and Ray Stonesifer both cleared 1.83 meters (6-0) to tie for fourth place. Kaiden Gates added a clearance of 1.68 meters (5-6) in the event.
The Eagles posted solid results in the pole vault, led by Gavin Robb, who placed fifth after clearing 4.05 meters (13-3½). Sean Buckley finished tied for seventh with a clearance of 3.60 meters (11-9¾), while freshmen Kaelano Kelly and Joey McGowan also competed.
Juniata made its presence felt in the sprints, with Colson Lewis, Djemba Ndikwe, and Isaiah Huffstutler all advancing to the 60-meter final. Lewis finished fifth in 7.06 seconds, Ndikwe followed in sixth at 7.07, and Huffstutler placed eighth in 7.14.
Lewis picked up an event victory in the 200 meters, crossing the line first with a time of 22.57 seconds. Ndikwe added another win for the Eagles in the 400 meters, capturing the event in 50.75 seconds.
In the middle distances, Deric Fritzges delivered a strong performance in the 800 meters, finishing fourth overall in 2:01.38. On the distance side, Adam Gallo placed sixth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:46.62.
Juniata closed the meet in the 4x400 relay, where Caleb Massare, Josh Wilson, Gavin Robb, and Isaiah Huffstutler combined for a sixth-place finish with a time of 3:40.05.
Juniata heads back to Susquehanna next weekend for the Valentine Invite.
