Juniata Men Battle Hard with the Colonels and Warriors
Huntingdon, Pa.- The Juniata men hosted the Wilkes University Colonels and the Lycoming College Warriors in a tri-meet today. They fell victim to a close loss in the overall meet, but had some standout performers.
Matthew Rota was the top point getter for the Eagles today, notching a huge finish in the 100m free with a personal-best time of 53.95. He also secured a first-place finish and another personal best in the 100m fly (1:03.42). Rota was key in the 200m Medley Relay, where Marshall Radonovich, Max Baronner, and Wyatt Cole secured a first-place finish.
Yui Inagi posted another successful meet with personal bests in the 200 free (209.72) and the 200 IM (2:23.99), finishing both in second place. Inagi bagged another gold finish with a 58.26 in the 100m free. He was a key piece in the second-place 200m free relay, consisting of Wyatt Cole, Max Baronner, and the anchor Ben Schultz.
Cody Hartle also had a notable performance, finishing in second place in the 800m free with a time of 9:48.86.
The Eagles travel next Saturday, January 24th, to Altoona to compete against PSU Altoona and Elizabethtown in their last regular season meet.
