Susquehanna, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team suffered their first defeat in regular season Landmark Conference play in over a year as they lost 2-0 at Susquehanna University, Tuesday evening at Sassafras Field.
In the fifth minute, Susquehanna crossed the ball from the right side that went over everyone past the far post. A SU forward was first to the ball and lobbed it back across the goal mouth, and Jack McCarthy of Susquehanna headed the ball into the net.
Eleven minutes later, a SU long throw-in deflected off a JC defender to Angelo Zografos six yards from goal, and he smashed it into the roof of the net.
Juniata dominated the rest of the match but couldn't find the back of the SU net.
They outshot SU on the night, 17-7, and held a 5-1 advantage in corners.
The Eagles will look to rebound against the University of Scranton, Saturday at 4:00.
