ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team continued their historic start to conference play with a 2-0 win at Elizabethtown, Wednesday evening at Ira R. Herr Field.
The win is the program's first over Elizabethtown.
Nathan Weick had a goal and an assist, while Shawn Tanaka scored the other goal. Maxwell Mattioni made three saves in goal for the Eagles.
The teams were scoreless in the first half, with Juniata having a 6-4 advantage in shots and a 2-0 lead on corners.
In the 49th minute, Weick cut it back to Tanaka, who beat the keeper to give Juniata the lead.
Eleven minutes later, Weick sauntered through several Blue Jay defenders before finding the back of the net to double the Juniata lead.
Juniata had a 18-14 lead in shots, and 5-2 in corners.
The Eagles will look to continue their strong play at Wilkes on Saturday. Kickoff is at 4:30.
