HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's lacrosse team lost to visiting Marywood University, Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.
Zane Kromer and Jahmir Barber each had two goals, while Liam Walsh had a goal and an assist. Brayden Yeager added two assists, while Landon Heddens and Dontez Porter had a goal apiece. Jake Patchel led the team with three caused turnovers, while Heddens tallied four ground balls. Chris Queen had two caused turnovers and four ground balls. Griffin Umstead had a career-high 21 saves in goal for the Eagles.
Walsh found Kromer, who beat the keeper to get things started three minutes in for the Eagles. The Pacers scored six minutes later, with the Eagles retaking the lead 14 seconds later as Barber smashed through the Marywood defense before rifling a shot past the keeper. Marywood tied things at two, and that's how the first quarter ended.
The teams scored two goals apiece over the first 12 minutes of the second quarter, before Heddens scored for the Eagles to send them into the half up one, 5-4.
Goals from Walsh and Kromer increased the Eagle advantage to three, but the Pacers weren't going down without a fight. Marywood scored twice in the final four minutes to get within one heading into the final quarter.
The Pacers dominated the fourth, outscoring JC 6-0 to win the game.
Juniata will return to action next weekend against Albright.
