Washleski in T4 Position With Brown in 10th at Penn State
State College, Pa.- The men's golf team carried momentum from a third-place finish at Dickinson to the Pennsylvania Classic at the Penn State Blue Course. The team walked in one shot off of third place in T6 position with a 315 in windy, cold conditions.
Kole Washleski finished day one in T4 position in a 122-person field, walking into the clubhouse with a score of +3 (75). Washleski carded three birdies on the day, finishing the front nine (his second nine of the day) with a 37 and one over par. Ryan Hilyard rolled with his recent momentum after a T6 finish in Carlisle earlier this week to finish day one in the T15 position. Hilyard carded a 77 (+5), battling the wind throughout his round at the Blue Course. Griffin Snowberger carded an 81 (+9) for the Eagles at Penn State and will look to improve tomorrow. Ben Pintof fought hard all day with an 82 (+10) and rolled in three birdies on the day. Colin Wible rounded out the starting five for the Eagles, finishing with an 84 (+12). Wible started his day with a birdie on the 10th and ended his day with a smile as he birdied the 9th before submitting his scorecard.
Ethan Brown had an impressive round as an individual for the Eagles and sits in 10th place overall in the tournament. Brown shot 76 (+4) in the wind and bagged three birdies on the day, tying the team lead.
The Eagles will finish their run at State College tomorrow as they eye the leaderboard, looking to move up.
