Eagles Crush Conference Opponents in Podium Finish in Carlisle
Carlisle, Pa.- Robb Ritchey led the Eagles back down to Carlisle yesterday to continue on a strong first day showing. The Eagles shot a 316 in steady winds on a day when no team broke 300. Winds were no match for the squad as they held firm in fourth place (third among A teams) to secure a podium finish, only trailing 55th-ranked Dickinson and 39th-ranked F&M. Conference opponents Catholic and Goucher each finished in eighth and ninth place, respectively, trailing the Eagles by 12 and 18 shots. As a team, the Eagles secured three top 20 finishes among the best in the tournament.
Ben Pintof led the way down in Carlisle, playing the course +5 (76) for a strong round in the wind. Pintof made eagle on the 15th hole to complement two other birdies he made enroute to a T12 finish overall. Ryan Hilyard trailed Pintof, finishing at +8 (79) on the day. Hilyard started with a par and found a birdie on the 15th to highlight a T6 finish in a field of 86 players. Griffin Snowberger capped off the tournament with a round at +9 (80). Snowberger dug through the wind, finding many pars along the way to finish T19 for the tournament, continuing a dominant career for Snowberger. Kole Washleski entered the clubhouse at +10 (81) after the conclusion of the tournament. Washleski picked up two birdies in his final four holes of the tournament to sit in the top half of the field in 43rd place.
