Hilyard Leads the Field for a School Record as Eagles Crush Team Record
Carlisle, Pa.- The Eagles' winter hiatus is finally over as they came out hot on the first day of the Dickinson Spring Invitational, shooting a one under 287 as a team. The Eagles sit in fourth place behind the 24th-ranked Franklin and Marshall, as well as the 55th-ranked Dickinson A+B teams. Carlisle Barracks proved to be no issue with the team shooting 287, an official school record for the Eagles, smashing their previous record of 295.
Ryan Hilyard tore up the barracks, dominating the field with a five under par 67. Hilyard breaks Ben Pintof's previous record of 69 while he leads a field of 86, including many top players, including Colin McMahon-Shea, the 16th-ranked player in the country. Griffin Snowberger followed up Hilyard, finishing at one under par with a 71. He stands at T10 in a stacked field after a windy day at Carlisle. Ben Pintof added to the record round for the Eagles, starting out the spring with a 72. That places Pintof in the top 20 for the first round and positions him nicely for day two in Carlisle. Kole Washleski rounded out the counting scores for the Eagles with a five-over-par 77. Washleski will look to keep the putter hot this spring. Harrison Levithan finishes out the top five for the Eagles down in Carlisle. He will look to round into form tomorrow, taking advantage of the greens.
Hilyard and the Eagles take flight tomorrow afternoon at 12:21!
