Kocak’s 24 Powers Juniata Past Moravian, 85-78
Huntingdon, Pa. – Ty Kocak poured in a game-high 24 points as Juniata shot nearly 57 percent from the floor to defeat Moravian, 85-78, Saturday afternoon inside Memorial Gymnasium.
Juniata (10-15, 7-11 Landmark) led by as many as 12 in the first half and carried a 40-28 advantage into the break. Moravian answered with a 50-point second half but the Eagles were able to hold on.
Kocak was efficient all afternoon, finishing 8-of-11 from the field and a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc while adding four rebounds. He also went 6-of-8 from the foul line and recorded three steals and a block.
Jayden Bilger added 14 points and seven rebounds, knocking down two three-pointers, while Tre Yawn provided a major lift off the bench with 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting and a 6-of-8 effort at the stripe.
William Littles Jr. contributed 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists, and Jaiden Aze was a spark inside with 10 points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting along with six boards.
As a team, Juniata shot 56.9 percent (29-51) from the floor and out-rebounded Moravian 34-31. The Eagles forced 15 Greyhound turnovers and recorded 12 steals.
Juniata closes out the regular season 10-15 overall and 8th place in the Landmark Conference.
