HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's basketball team lost to visiting Catholic University, 86-71, Wednesday evening inside Memorial Gymnasium.
Malcolm Griffith had 12 points and three rebounds, while Ty Kocak had 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Noah Bailey was a perfect 4-4 from three for 12 points to go with three assists and a rebound off the bench.
Ayden Hurley found Bigler for an elbow jumper, and Kocak finished inside as the Eagles kept the pace, trailing 6-4 early.
Bilger's three from the left wing off a Tre Yawn dime brought JC again within two, 11-9, with just under five gone so far in the contest.
The Cardinals tried to stretch their lead out over the next 10 minutes, and surged ahead by as many as 13, but back-to-back Bailey triples had the Eagles back within seven, and another made it 38-32 with a minute remaining in the half. Catholic scored inside, as Juniata trailed by eight at the break.
A Cardinal onslaught to open the second half with a 21-4 run that made it 59-36, and the Eagles couldn't close the gap the rest of the way.
Juniata will take on the University of Scranton on Saturday at 2:00.
