Men’s Basketball Defeats Drew on Shaq The House Night

HUNTINGDON, PA- Boosted by a large and boisterous crowd, the Juniata men’s basketball team outscored Drew 38-26 in the second half to come away with a 68-58 victory on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Gymnasium. It was Shaq The House with honoree Shaquill Smith returning to campus for the first time since a serious illness in October sidelined him.

Seth Brewer scored a career-high 15 points for the Eagles.
Men’s Hoops Shoots Down Goucher, 75-55

HUNTINGDON, PA- A hot shooting first half gave Juniata a big lead that held up in the end as the Eagles defeated Goucher 75-55 on Wednesday night at Memorial Gymnasium. The win snaps JC’s two-game winless streak and evens their record at 8-8 overall and 2-5 in the Landmark. The Gophers drop to 3-16 overall and 2-8 in the conference.

Men’s Basketball to Host “Shaq The House” This Saturday

HUNTINGDON, PA- This coming Saturday January 31, the Juniata men’s basketball team will host a “Shaq the House” to benefit team member Shaquill Smith and his family. The men and women entertain Landmark rival Drew University in a doubleheader with a 2pm tip-off for the women and a 4 p.m. start for the men.

Men’s Hoops Loses Lead; Falls to Moravian 70-61

BETHLEHEM, PA- Juniata took a double-digit lead into the second half but could not sustain it on the road against Moravian on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles fell to the Greyhounds 70-61 in Landmark conference play and drop to 8-10 overall and 2-7 in the conference. Moravian improves to 4-13 and 2-6 in the Landmark.

Lee Scores 26 but Juniata Men Fall to Catholic

WASHINGTON, DC- Freshman Marcus Lee (Carrolltown, PA/Bishop Carroll) tied a season-high with 26 points and Juniata men’s basketball team shot a season-high 58.3% in three-point shots but host Catholic was too much in the end as it defeated the Eagles 74-59 at Dufour Athletic Center on Tuesday night. Lee led all scorers and was the only Juniata player to score in double figures.

Juniata Men Outlast USMMA 61-51

HUNTINGDON, PA- With key contributions off the bench and points off of turnovers, the Juniata men’s basketball team held off Merchant Marine Academy 61-51 on Saturday at Memorial Gymnasium. The Eagles bench outscored the Mariners’ 28-6 and scored 21 points off of 11 Mariner miscues while Merchant Marine only converted 10 points off of 11 Juniata turnovers.

Late Run Spurs Crusaders Over Eagles

HUNTINGDON, PA- Juniata trailed by only one point with just over six and a half minutes left in the game but visiting Susquehanna outscored the Eagles 10-0 to come out with a 72-61 win on Wednesday night at Memorial Gymnasium. The loss brings Juniata’s record to 7-8 overall and 1-5 in the Landmark while the Crusaders improve to 11-4 overall and 4-2 in the conference.

HUNTINGDON, PA- A 10-point halftime lead grew to more than 30 points in the second half as the Juniata men’s basketball team defeated visiting Eastern 87-54 on Saturday at Memorial Gymnasium. The victory evens Juniata’s record at 7-7 while Eastern falls to 4-9.

Juniata Gets First Landmark Win with 56-46 Victory over Elizabethtown

HUNTINGDON, PA – The men’s basketball team led from start to finish and held off visiting Elizabethtown for a 56-46 victory on Thursday night at Memorial Gymnasium. The win, which snapped the Eagles four-game winless streak, also was the team’s first victory in Landmark play. Juniata avenged its 62-52 defeat at the hands of the Blue Jays back on December 2.

Men’s Basketball Downed by Goucher, 58-53

TOWSON, MD- The Juniata men’s basketball team jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the early in the first half but host Goucher recovered and went ahead late in the second to come out with a 58-53 victory on Tuesday night. The loss drops the Eagles to 5-7 overall and 0-4 in the Landmark while the Gophers improve to 3-9 and 2-1 in the conference.

Men's Basketball Stopped by Drew

MADISON, NJ- Host Drew jumped on Juniata early in the first half and despite an Eagles comeback, JC succumbed to the Rangers 79-52 on Saturday afternoon at Baldwin Gymnasium. The loss drops the Eagles to 5-6 overall and 0-3 in the Landmark while Drew improves to 7-4 and 3-0 in conference play.

Kyle Koehler led the Eagles with 12 points.
Men’s Hoops Falls to Unbeaten Carnegie Mellon 55-45

PITTSBURGH, PA- The Juniata men’s basketball team returned to the hardwood after a two and a half week layoff on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles led for most of the first half but host Carnegie Mellon came back to outscore Juniata 29-17 and win 55-45 at Skibo Gymnasium. The loss evens JC’s record at 5-5 while the Tartans stay undefeated at 9-0.

HUNTINGDON, PA- Juniata’s men’s basketball took a lead against Dickinson in the second half but the Red Devils recovered with a late run to win 65-59 in the championship game of the 23rd annual Doc Greene Tournament. The loss drops the Eagles to 5-4 overall while the #10 Red Devils improve to 8-1.

Men’s Basketball to Host Doc Greene Tournament This Weekend

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – This Friday and Saturday, the Juniata men's basketball team will host the 23rd Annual Comfort Inn Doc Greene Tournament at Memorial Gymnasium. The first game on Friday will feature two of the top teams in Division III as #16 North Central College from Illinois will play #10 Dickinson College at 5 p.m. The Eagles will face Penn State York in the second game of the night at 7 p.m. The losing teams will play a consolation game at 2 p.m. on Saturday while the winning teams will advance to the championship game at 4 p.m.
