Scholly Earns Capital One Academic All-District

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Senior Brian Scholly (State College, Pa./State College), of the Juniata College men's basketball team, has earned Capital One Academic All-District honors, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The award is given to "recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom." This is the second academic all-district award for Scholly who previously received the honor in the 2012-13 season.

"I'm very proud of Brian's accomplishment," said head coach Greg Curley. "This award is a great reflection of his commitment to excellence on and off the basketball court."

A history POE with a secondary emphasis in education, Scholly is carrying a 3.72 GPA into his final semester at Juniata. He is one of five Division III student-athletes selected to the District 4 First-Team.

With his first two three-point field goals of the 2013-14 season, Scholly set a new Juniata career record for field goals made from behind the arc. In the Eagles 70-67 win over Carnegie Mellon University earlier this season, Scholly reached the career 1,000-point mark and he is currently second on the team in rebounds per game (4.9) and third in points per game (12.7).
