Brockport, N.Y.- The Juniata field hockey team lost 5-0 to open the year at Alleghany College, Saturday afternoon.
Kara Stringfellow made six saves in goal for the Eagles.
The Gators struck for the first time 10 minutes into the game. The teams remained deadlocked heading into halftime. Juniata trailed in shots, 6-1 and corners 4-1.
The Gators started clicking in the third as they put three in the Eagle cage in 11 minutes.
The hosts tacked on a final goal in the fourth to complete the scoring.
Juniata will look to rebound against SUNY Brockport, Sunday at 1:00.
