Miller Named Landmark Defensive Player of the Week
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Junior Shelby Miller (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) of the Juniata College field hockey team was named Landmark Conference defensive player of the week, the league announced Monday. Miller helped the Eagles to a 1-1 week. It concluded with Juniata handing conference rival the University of Scranton its first loss of the season, a 2-1 double-overtime upset in their Landmark opener.

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Junior Shelby Miller (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) of the Juniata College field hockey team was named Landmark Conference defensive player of the week, the league announced Monday. Miller helped the Eagles to a 1-1 week. It concluded with Juniata handing conference rival the University of Scranton its first loss of the season, a 2-1 double-overtime upset in their Landmark opener.
This is her second Landmark honor this season. The goalkeeper held Scranton scoreless in over 80 minutes of time in the cage and allowed just one goal in two games, finishing the week with seven saves and an .875 save percentage. She currently ranks 25th nationally in save percentage.
Juniata (5-5, 1-0 Landmark) is back home for its next game. The Eagles take on Elizabethtown College on Wednesday, Oct. 2 in Knox Stadium. Game time is set for 4 p.m. Juniata is 8-11 all-time against the Blue Jays and have won two of the last three meetings.
