Greyhounds Top Eagles in Huntingdon
HUNTINGDON, PA- The Juniata football team hosted their pennultimate match of the 2025-26 season against the Moravian Univeristy Greyhounds on Saturday, and lost by a final score of 38-13.
The Greyhounds started this match downhill, scoring two touchdowns on as many drives in the first quarter. After their second, the Eagles found a response with a 75-yard touchdown rush by Ivan Foreman on the opening play from scrimmage in their second drive.
The Eagles began their next drive on their own 12-yard line, as a Joey Menke catch and run play went for 78 yards on the first play of the second quarter, quickly giving the Eagles a goal to go scenario. Two plays later, Alex Eaton capped off the drive with a 5-yard touchdown rush. The Eagles were down one, bringing the score to 14-13.
As the second quarter went on, the Greyhounds rebuilt their momentum, adding three more scores on the board. Two touchdowns and a field goal brought the score to 31-13 at the halftime break.
Scoring slowed down for both sides in the third quarter as the Greyhounds scored the lone touchdown of the half, extending their lead to 38-13 after the Eagles went three and out receiving the second half kickoff. The Eagles took their next drive to the Moravian 25-yard line, but consecutive incompletions halted their progress and the drive resulted in a turnover on downs. The same result came on the Eagles last drive of the third quarter, as the Eagles had reached the Moravian five-yard line following an interception by Stephen Griffin, but were unsuccessful going for it on 4th & goal.
The fourth quarter saw both teams go on long drives, however neither resulted in points, as the Greyhounds missed a field goal attempt and the Eagles threw an interception. With little time left, Moravian ran out the clock on their final drive, locking in a final scoreline of 38-13.
Ethan Eisenberg threw for 138 yards passing, while Foreman rushed for 125 on the ground, largely helped by his 75-yard touchdown rush. Menke's 78-yard catch led the receiving numbers for the Eagles, as Dillon Wakefield led on defense with 14 total tackles.
The loss drops the Eagles to 0-5 in the Landmark Conference and 2-7 overall. They will host their final game of the season against Lycoming College next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
